Celebrating St. Patrick's Day, New York Festival Of Song presents, March 17 at 8 PM, texts by Ireland's greatest poets, including James Joyce and W.B. Yeats, set to music by major composers. Also featured are traditional Irish airs, with guest artist Christopher Layer, Principal Bagpipist for Trinity Irish Dance Company. Singers include tenor Paul Appleby, just named as a Metropolitan Opera National Council-winner The program is part of the Rising Vocal Stars program from Caramoor Center For Music and the Arts, supported in part by the Terrance W. Schwab Fund for Young Vocal Artists.



New York Festival Of Song, now in its 21st season, was called by the New York Times "A national treasure when it comes to the art of song," and among its rave reviews this season have been "Extraordinary -- what we all want concerts to be."
